Hilary worked for the Federal Government for many years while raising her children as a single parent. She returned to school when they were adolescents, and graduated with distinction with a BA in Psychology from UPEI, followed by a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. Hilary’s life experience, education, and 11 years of working in the mental health field provide her with the qualifications to offer therapy, counselling, and case management to adults from all walks of life.
Hilary’s therapeutic style is mindfulness based, client centred, and collaborative, offering an eclectic methodological, and individualised approach. She specialises in providing therapy to adults who have been diagnosed with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, some of the personality disorders, and eating disorders. She also provides counselling to adults with situational challenges such as mild/moderate depression & anxiety, stress management, life transitions, communication issues & low self-esteem. Hilary also has extensive experience in working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
